And so, I know, I really regret it.  Uh it wasn’t worth it. Do you regret doing the series? >> Mhm. I regret doing the series. >> Really? It just  sapped me of 4 years of my At 93, Angie Dickinson finally speaks up about Robert Redford. Born Angeline Brown in a small town in North Dakota, Angie Dickinson’s journey to stardom was anything but  ordinary.

It’s very delicious to act with beautiful men. Some of them were in the realm of fantasy. Al Pacino. Mhm. Raised during the Great Depression,  she developed a fierce determination that would later define her career. After  moving to California, her life changed when a beauty pageant opened the door to Hollywood.

With her striking looks, smoky voice,  and undeniable presence, she quickly began landing roles, working her way up through television  and film until she got her big break in Rio Bravo, starring alongside John Wayne. That role didn’t just make her famous. It proved she could stand shoulder to shoulder with the biggest  names in the industry.

Throughout the 1960s and 70s, Dickinson became one of Hollywood’s most versatile and sought-after  actresses. From glamorous films like Ocean’s 11 with Frank Sinatra to gritty thrillers and daring roles, she showed a rare ability to balance elegance  with emotional depth. But it was her groundbreaking role in Police Woman that truly changed the game, making her one of the first women to lead a major crime series and inspiring  a generation of female-driven television.

Behind the fame, however, Angie’s life was filled with both love and heartbreak. Her marriage to legendary composer Burt  Bacharach brought glamour and success, but also deep personal challenges, especially in raising their daughter Nikki, who faced lifelong struggles. Through it all, Angie carried herself with quiet strength,  navigating both Hollywood and personal tragedy with grace.

But now, decades later, it’s her reflections on Robert Redford that have captured  everyone’s attention. Following his passing in 2025 at the age of 89, Dickinson shared a rare and deeply personal  tribute. She described Redford as more than just a Hollywood icon, calling him a man of integrity in an industry where that wasn’t always easy  to find.

She recalled meeting him in the early days when he was still a shy, rising actor long before becoming a global  star. According to Dickinson, what set Redford apart wasn’t just his legendary good looks, it was his  authenticity. He refused to let fame change him, choosing his own path and staying true to who he was.

She openly acknowledged the challenges women faced in Hollywood at the time, noting that while men like Redford had  more opportunities, he always treated his female co-stars with respect.  “He listened,” she said, “and in that era, that meant everything.” She also praised his legacy beyond acting, especially his work with independent filmmakers and  his passion for creating opportunities through Sundance.

To her, his impact wasn’t just on  screen, it was in the doors he opened for others. And what about the question fans have always wondered,  was there ever something more between them? Dickinson smiled and set the record straight. “Yes,” she admitted, “like many women, she was drawn to his  charm, but their connection was never romantic.

Instead, it was built on mutual respect and admiration, a rare kind of bond that  lasted a lifetime.” As she reflected on his passing, her words carried both sadness and peace. She found comfort in knowing he left the  world quietly in the home he loved. And in the end, she summed him up in a way only someone who truly knew him could.

>>  >> He was the real thing. They don’t make them like him anymore. For Angie Dickinson, after nearly  a century of life, fame, and unforgettable memories, this wasn’t just a tribute. It was a final, heartfelt goodbye to a man who represented the very best of Hollywood.
