was a worldwide spectacle for many reasons. It was an unlikely pairing of two celebrities who were aggressively rebranding at the same time. MGK was relatively unknown at the time. Yes, he inked his deal with Bad Boy Entertainment at 21 years old in 2011, but he was mainly known for his feud with Eminem and his daughter Hailey.
Megan, on the other hand, was much deeper into her rebrand. Yes, if you watch the deep dive on her, you know that after her Transformers scandal, she had a five-year gap between theatrical releases, ending pretty much any momentum she built up. People were genuinely writing Megan off as a has-been, until she eventually met up with Michael Bay in 2014, and then debuted in his billion-dollar Ninja Turtles franchise.
Because Jennifer’s Body had become such a cult classic over the years, Megan’s audience at this point largely consisted of The Nightmare Before Christmas and Elvira crowd. Megan attending multiple Comic-Cons over the years for her various projects. This is important to know because I think that her relationship with MGK was very targeted towards her audience.
So, keep that in mind. By 2020, after more than a decade of carrying the fallout from the Transformers scandal, Megan had clawed her way back into steady film and TV work. Even though her love life had been very on-and-off with Brian Austin Green, by 2019, Brian reiterated to the press that he and Megan were still going strong.
Keep in mind, this is after Megan broke off her engagement with him in 2009, only to get married to him in 2010, have two kids by 2014, file for divorce in 2015, and give birth to their third child in 2016. Yes, she gave birth to their third child after filing for divorce. Needless to say, the public definitely had their doubts.
Not only did an 18-year-old Megan start dating Brian when he guest starred on her TV show, but they were such an on-again, off-again couple, no one ever really took their relationship that seriously. All this talk about Megan’s love life would keep her name consistently in the press, but MGK didn’t have that same press appeal.
If you look at exactly where his career was when he met Megan, he was an entirely different person. >> I know Pub is a whole different person than the rest of the public knows. You know, like I could call him any time of the day. >> Sure, he’d signed a deal with a major rap label and was generally known.
But after his Eminem feud, he was in fame limbo. All of that would change in 2019 when his collaboration with up-and-coming rock star Youngblud went bigger than anything he’d released since his Eminem diss. So, in January of 2020, MGK revealed that he was completely rebranding and releasing a pop punk album titled Tickets to My Downfall.
And it didn’t matter whether this title was an unplanned manifestation or a glimpse into his PR technique, because either way, he would need to be utterly humiliated to become the star he is today. In March 2020, MGK and Megan Fox both entered the production for the film Midnight in the Switchgrass, meeting each other for the first time since that first GQ party.
And even just during the table read, their energy was magnetic. And during the first 2 weeks of filming, it was very clear they had a major feelings for one another. But keep in mind, as far as the world knew, Megan was a happily married woman with a family, and MGK was so young. He said he had posters of Megan on his walls when he was a teenager.
Just as it seems like Megan’s love life was about to be flipped upside down, the entire world would shut down in March of 2020. Only 2 weeks after filming began for Midnight in the Switchgrass, the actors and crew would be sent home for an indefinite hiatus. Reports began popping up that MGK would go to Megan’s house and hang out with her constantly, and the narrative of infidelity between Brian and Megan began running full force through the media.
On May 15th, Megan would be photographed driving with MGK in Calabasas. A very quick 3 days later on May 18th, 2020, Brian Austin Green would take to his podcast and confirm his split from Megan, setting the record straight publicly and even directly addressing her relationship with MGK. >> The pictures of Colson and Megan came out yesterday on her birthday, and then I put out a post on my Instagram.
I just wanted to sort of clear the air for everyone, and I wanted it coming from my mouth. I I wanted people to hear everything from me, and and then this is it. I don’t I don’t want to have to talk about this anymore. Megan doesn’t really want to talk about it anymore. I’m sure Colson doesn’t want to talk about it anymore.
Megan gives me a hard time about oversharing and divulging too much information. So last year, around Halloween, Thanksgiving time, Megan was out of the country shooting, and she was gone for about 5 and 1/2 weeks. It was the longest that she’s been gone working. And so I was at home with the kids, and everything was fine. Then she got back from being out of the country and working, and and we were distant. But I gave her a couple weeks.
I figured she’s been out of the country, she’s jet-lagged, she’s been shooting nights. I have to give her some time to recoup a little bit and get back into life. And so I And about 2 weeks had passed, and things hadn’t hadn’t really changed. They hadn’t progressed. We weren’t feeling any closer towards each other.
I’d sent her a text that day saying, “Hey, I’ve given you a couple weeks. I understand if you’re jet-lagged, and if that’s the case, should I be concerned about our marriage? If that’s not the case.” And she responded back, “Hey, let’s talk about it later.” So, right away I was thinking, “Well, that’s not very That’s not very good.
” She came home later, and we sat down in the living room, and we talked about it, and she said, “I realized while I was out of the country working alone that I liked myself better during that experience, and I think that might be something worth trying for me.” I was shocked, and I was upset about it, but I can’t be upset at her, and I wasn’t upset at her.
She didn’t ask to feel that way. She It wasn’t a choice she made. That’s the way she honestly felt. And so, we talked about it some more, and we decided, “Let’s separate a little bit, and give ourselves some time, and take some some space, and meditate, and do whatever, and see see what it is we find.” And so, we did.
And so, people started seeing in the tabloids that I was in Malibu a little more. She was in Calabasas at that house. We still have the Malibu house, so it was I gave it time, and came here. We’ve been together for 15 years, and we’ve been married for 10, and we have three amazing children, and and they’re the sense of loss of How do I go on with this big part of my life that I’ve always known? Megan and I talked a lot about it, and a big concern for both of us, really both of us.
I mean, Megan, people people talk [ __ ] about the fact that she’s younger than me and all of that, but she’s really a responsible person, and she really loves the kids, and cares about what their life and their experience is. We can’t pretend that it won’t affect the kids, because it will. But, the control we have is how it affects the kids.
Neither one of us did anything to each other. She’s always been honest with me. I’ve always been honest with her. We’ve had an amazing relationship and I will always love her and I know she’ll always love me and I know that like as far as a family, like what we’ve built is really cool and it’s really special. So, we decided let’s make sure that we don’t lose that.
Let’s make sure that no matter what, we’re always friends with each other and we’re a united front with the kids and we’ll still do family vacations and we’ll do holidays as a family and that kind of stuff and really make that a focus for the kids. So, since since that since the end of the year, we’ve really been trying to sort of be apart and figure out what life is now cuz it’s a it’s a big change for both of us.
It’s not something that you go into a marriage considering. I I went into a marriage and and Megan did also thinking, “Okay, we’re getting married. Like this is a a choice for life. Like this is somebody that I want to share the rest of my life with and have a family with and and I think for me that might have been a bit of a downfall because I think I became too just complacent.
Like this Like, “Okay, this part of life is done. I’ve I now have a family and a wife and I love her and she loves me, so I don’t have to really work at that or we can sort of take care of the kids and do that stuff and and be and we’re okay.” She met this this guy Colson on this film she’s working on. I’ve never met him.
Goes by Machine Gun Kelly. I’ve never met him, but Megan and I have talked about him and they’re friends at this point and from what she expressed, he’s a really just nice, genuine guy and I trust her judgment. She’s always had really good judgment and and I don’t want people to think that her or he are villains or or I was a victim in any way with any of this.
This isn’t something new for us. This is something new for people to experience and hear about in the press and take sides on and judge and critique, but it’s not new for us. Normally, Megan and I stay stay really quiet about things like this and we sort of just let let the story be what what people want to make of it, but during this time period of of of people wanting something to write about, this is it’s really become something that that kept me up last night because I don’t I don’t want anybody be vilified in this situation.
It sucks when life changes and something that you’re used to that you’ve been doing for 15 years, you you try and you you try and not get rid of, but you change because there’s the unknown aspect to it and that’s really scary. >> Only 2 days after Brian released this podcast episode, MGK released his new music video for the new song Bloody Valentine starring Megan Fox as his captor.
This was the beginning of the public’s complete and utter obsession over Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly. In July of 2020, Megan made headlines when she and MGK made their podcast debut together. Referring to her new pop-punk boyfriend as her quote twin flame. >> So, we were doing the table read in that room over there. >> Yeah. >> And we read through and his this character that Colson was going to play, obviously that the actor wasn’t there and I was like, “Who’s going to play >> Yeah, I remember that.

Because I knew I knew I could feel that some wild was going to happen to me from that meeting, but I wasn’t yet sure what. I just felt it like deep in my soul that that that something was going to come from that.
So, then we met >> on set. >> On set, yeah. >> And I waited out I waited outside Our trailers were next to each other, so I just waited outside on my trailer steps every day I worked just >> no idea. >> eye contact of which cuz she would have to get out of her car and go to her like walk from her car to her trailer and there was like five steps in between the car and the door and I would just sit there and like hope like >> What? >> And she would always look over like give me like one >> She’d give you the baby thing eyes I call them. room with him and said hello to him and looked into his eyes I knew cuz I’m into all of this stuff. It was my hip, yeah. >> the hip. I was like doesn’t it seem weird that I’m this close and just not >> touching her, yeah. >> And but but I think you but it’s just amazing cuz it was so easy once you guys started doing that scene like the magic it started but it was clear.
>> They were falling hard for each other. And by August they made their relationship Instagram official. Megan was priming the public so that when she hard launched their relationship to the world on the red carpet at the 2020 American Music Awards they were the most talked about couple of the night.
And it worked but maybe a little too well. >> Meanwhile during this time period MGK released his full Travis Barker produced album Tickets to My Downfall launching a brand new commercialized pop punk sound that would take TikTok by storm. By 2021 MGK and Megan Fox’s image as a couple completely exploded.
It started with their cover interview in GQ magazine. In a joint interview MGK and Megan went into detail about their first moments alone all while tattooing each other with the words the darkest fairy tale. >> I’ll tell you where we first met. >> Where did we first meet? >> At a GQ party. >> Fox I’ll actually tell that story.
>> Right. You said to me >> You smell like weed. >> And I said >> >> I am weed. >> And then you vanished. >> MGK told the press that his and Megan’s relationship is quote like ecstasy and agony for sure. I don’t want people to think anything’s perfect with us. I didn’t say it was the darkest fairy tale for no reason.
Megan punctuated his statement saying there’s also a demonic side. Throughout 2021, Megan and MGK would be spotted with each other non-stop, whether it was by paparazzi, at the 2021 Video Music Awards, or their countless social media posts together. They even changed their pinky nails together for a red carpet. People genuinely didn’t know what they were going to do next, and they drew a lot of controversy with all the groundwork he’d laid in the year prior, MGK was doing non-stop live performances, and Megan was right back
where she loved to be, shutting down red carpets and blowing interviewers’ minds. >> He was like, “You’re going to be naked tonight.” And I was like, “Whatever you say, daddy. Whatever daddy says.” >> Are you proud of him? >> Very proud. He’s the most talented boy in the world. >> Aw, and then you’re pretty aw, pretty talented, too.
Seeing you in Bloody Valentine, are you guys going to collaborate more when it comes to your music videos in the future? >> I mean, yeah, he’s not allowed to have other hoes in his music video. It’s the queen or no one. >> The PR strategy behind this massive relationship launch is fascinating, to say the least.
You have Megan, who’s pretty successful at this point, and Machine Gun Kelly, who is completely flopping and looking to pivot. Obviously, when Megan gets with a guy like MGK, she instantly makes them look more desired and sought after. But MGK’s image rebrand and robust music rollout served as major additional press for Megan.
Because Megan was already such a Hollywood mainstay when she got with MGK, it was so obvious that his career would benefit from the relationship immediately. But he actually got so huge that he started to benefit Megan in return. When you put both of them together, their age gap makes Megan seem younger to the public, and Megan’s lust for him made MGK seem that much more desirable.
It was a win-win that required a ton of foresight from Megan and her team. Just to put it in perspective, this was the first year Megan was invited to the Met Gala, and it wasn’t due to any big project she was promoting or that her career had been super successful. It was because of her personal life making headlines. And this completely shocked me.
I mean, artists like Doja Cat and influencers like Emma Chamberlain have been going for years. So, this was definitely a signifier of how massive Megan’s career was peaking. And her relationship was genuinely everywhere. The relationship between Machine Gun Kelly and Megan Fox was so successful that many began accusing MGK of being an industry plant, only set up with Megan to get him famous.
These matters accusations created the perfect storm for the new couple. People were obsessing over every minute detail of their relationship. And in January of 2022, they would give the public exactly what they didn’t want to see. Over the course of the next year, MGK and Megan Fox would craft a couple’s narrative so fit for the 21st century that it’s still being used as a rubric to make flops famous to this very day.
Their relationship had been thoroughly dissected for over a year at this point. And fans and skeptics alike came to the same conclusion that Megan and MGK were weirdly close. So, they played into it. They’d be all over each other at every award show, kissing any chance they could. It was simple.
At the time, because of various news stories surrounding Hollywood and the fashion industry, conspiracy theories and truths were being spread around the internet like wildfire. And Megan and MGK were about to out-Hollyweird everyone. To keep it in perspective, Lil Nas X had released his shoes with that drop of in them.
Doja Cat was gearing up to launch her scarlet persona. And MGK and Megan, or maybe their publicist, wanted them to get in on the action. On January 11th, 2022, Megan posted this video on Instagram with a caption, a quote, “In July of 2020, we sat under this banyan tree. We asked for magic. We were oblivious to the pain we would face together in such a short frenetic period of time.
Unaware of the work and sacrifices the relationship would require from us, but intoxicated off of the love and the karma. Somehow, a year and a half later, having walked through hell together and having laughed more than I ever imagined possible, he asked me to marry him. And just as in every lifetime before this one, as in every lifetime that will follow us, I said yes.
And then we drank each other’s blood. MGK followed this by adding the anecdote in his Instagram post, “You wear your blood around my neck.” News publications went wild. If people didn’t know the couple was together yet, they knew now. And in April, Megan eventually tried to put a kibosh on the speculation. >> I mean, some people give like a handkerchief to their partner or whatever, she gave me her DNA.
>> Just a few drops, but yes, we do consume each other on occasion for ritual purposes. >> Now, this did very little to calm people’s fears. So, Megan went on Call Her Daddy a few years later and clarified. >> I don’t know why it started. There was just like that one time that I said I drink ritualistically. Um and then everybody was like, “Wow, she’s into satanic rituals.
” Um >> Classic. >> Like little boys would go out with like their little pop guns and their fingers and like be >> >> brothers, right? And they’re like, “We’re best friends forever now.” And that’s not >> satanic, right? That’s normal and that’s cute. That’s sweet. That’s like an innocent like >> little bond.
>> Yeah, it’s a little bond between kids who love each other. They have a pure friendship. It’s like that. Except instead of rubbing your fingers together, the drop of goes in your mouth. And I don’t know what why that becomes satanic. I understand people are like, “Hey, that’s weird.” But guess what I think is weird.
I think it’s weird that girls are out here letting guys their mouth and they don’t know these guys. >> His engagement ring was also a huge topic of conversation. It was designed with two magnetic bands of thorns. They quite literally hurt when you try to take them off. If that wasn’t enough, they got matching voodoo doll tattoos on their ring fingers in May of 2022.
For the rest of year, this couple would overshare even more. Megan described an instance where she had to cut a hole in her jumpsuit at the American Music Awards just to have with MGK. But 2023 would be the toughest year yet for Megan and MGK’s new relationship. And it sadly wasn’t looking like the relationship would even survive the year.
The implosion started on February 5th, 2023, when the couple hit the Grammy Awards red carpet together in matching metallic looks. At this point, everything looked normal. The press coverage was still focusing on their PDA and fashions. But little did the public know, this would be their last red carpet appearance to this very day.
For the afterparty, they changed into wedding-inspired outfits, fueling rumors of a big grandiose wedding. The next day, Megan publicly praised MGK on Instagram for how he handled his Grammy loss with grace and maturity. So, Megan’s publicly praising MGK and claiming him as her own. But only 5 days later, that tone would shift dramatically.
For starters, Megan removed every photo of MGK off her Instagram, deleting any remnants that the couple had ever even been together. Megan replaced these posts with an Instagram carousel quoting Pray You Catch Me from Beyoncé’s magnum opus Lemonade, saying, “Quote, you can taste the dishonesty. It’s all over your breath.
” Now, if you don’t know anything about Lemonade, let me refresh you so you understand why the public was freaking out. The 12 tracks on Lemonade tell an abstract story of a rapper forsaking his wife for another woman, only for his wife to so graciously forgive him for being unfaithful by the end of the album.
Each chapter is a stage of grief, representing that feeling of loss you feel when someone betrays your trust on a deep level like infidelity. So, yes, Lemonade widely deals with themes of healing and forgiveness. But Megan posted track one, a song that tells the story of a woman who’s wide awake to the atrocities her husband’s committing, just hoping he will catch her snooping on him so he stops his wicked ways.
Social media and entertainment news outlets alike began speculating that MGK had done the unthinkable, that he cheated on Megan Fox. Just like with Lemonade, everyone’s first question was who could MGK have possibly cheated on Megan Fox with? Fans started commenting on Megan’s posts speculating who the other woman could possibly be.
A few fans speculated that it could have been Noah Cyrus. This is because the tabloids were rumoring MGK and Noah as a couple right around the time he met Megan. She was even in his music video with YUNGBLUD, but the name that kept coming up was Sophie Lloyd. Sophie was a guitarist for MGK on tour, and since she had just posted for Super Bowl weekends with the band, fans immediately speculated that it had to be her.
Megan replied to a fan on her post guessing it was Sophie, but this didn’t do much to calm the rumors. Just like the situation with Jay-Z, people began framing the situation as MGK setting men back hundreds of years, all because he was publicly being caught cheating on Megan Fox. TMZ would release an article claiming that Megan removed her thorn engagement ring and ended the relationship after discovering evidence of infidelity on MGK’s phone.
He reportedly, quote, really wants to make up, but Megan was weighing her options. An insider claimed, quote, Megan is seeing where they stand. She wants to see what they can salvage. But less than a week after Megan’s lemonade post, she took to Instagram with a note sub post saying, quote, There has been no third party interference of any kind.
That includes, but is not limited to actual humans, DMs, AI bots, or succubus demons. While I do hate to rob you of running baseless news stories that would have been much more accurately written by ChatGPT, you need to let this story die and leave all these innocent people alone now. End quote.
Sophie Lloyd, MGK’s guitarist, who is being accused of being the other woman, spoke out to the media through her team. They exclaimed that Sophie’s name had been needlessly dragged through the media over meritless accusations, and that any suggestion she acted unprofessionally or outside of her own personal relationship was untrue.
Megan would go to Sophie’s Instagram directly to clear the air for all the commenters tearing Sophie to shreds, saying, quote, How me making a joke in order to absolve this girl of a hurtful accusation somehow turned into confirmation of it, I will never understand. Why are people so, so dumb? Sophie, you are insanely talented. Welcome to Hollywood.
Your first unwarranted PR disaster. You have now been baptized by the flames of fame. It only gets worse from here, unfortunately. Just ignore it as much as you can. Middle finger up. End quote. After the statement, Megan would take to Instagram to follow Harry Styles, Timothy Chalamet, and most troubling of all, Eminem.
What’s funny is while I was researching for this video, I rediscovered the Love the Way You Lie video with Rihanna and Eminem, and I had no idea Megan was the star of it. So, her following Eminem is really just her following an old friend. Everyone obviously took this as a massive jab at MGK. Keep in mind, there’s still no official breakup announcement that’s been announced.
But, the public appearances and social media posts mostly dried up for the remainder of 2023, despite a few outings. One where the two were seen leaving an office primarily known for counseling, and another where they were seen attempting to reconcile in Hawaii. In May of 2023, they both attended Megan’s Sports Illustrated launch party, but ceremoniously walked the red carpet separately.
Now, this is purely speculation, but this is reminding me a lot of when Miley Cyrus showed up to Liam Hemsworth’s movie premiere in 2019 without him. >> How’s everything going? Holding it down for your man tonight? >> Yeah, you know, I had to be here. I was just saying, I already had this dress picked out, and uh you know, I know he’s down for the count, but this had to be seen.
So, I’m here, and I’m representing the film that he loves, and he’s incredible in. >> I’m a >> Automatically, when it involves movie premieres, I immediately get red flags. Like, does the Miley one not feel like a contractual obligation being fulfilled? >> holding it down for your man tonight? >> Yeah, you know, I had to be here. I was >> Yes, Liam is a Hemsworth brother.
But, just from a marketing perspective alone, if you have three options for the lead role of an action movie, and one of them brings a star like Miley Cyrus or Megan Fox to your red carpet premiere, the option might become a little more clear. I mean, Michael Bay himself said the only reason they even had premieres for Transformers was just for the press to get a shot of the quote Megan Fox dress.
>> Want to know the bottom line why they do these things? What bottom line? They get it out in the press, and they they get coverage on it, and the Megan Fox dress. It was always about the Megan Fox dress. What is she wearing? >> Clearly, premieres are a huge source of promotion for movies and TV.
MGK and Megan were primarily red carpet celebrities. To add on to that, anything that starts and stops abruptly for a specific period of time, especially when the two people involved try to make it work for so long and miss dire circumstances, will just always raise an eyebrow for me. Nonetheless, throughout the rest of 2023, articles would pop up detailing MGK and Megan’s daily struggle to fix their relationship.
Many articles detailing that the couple went through multiple Zoom counseling sessions a day, all to hopefully build back trust with each other. Keeping the theme of this being the most documented and oversaturated relationship of all time, Megan would use this news cycle to promote her very first book.
It was a collection of poems titled Pretty Boys Are Poisonous. The book featured a look at Megan’s innermost thoughts during this period of turmoil with MGK. Yes, Megan was hypothetical in her writing, it was no secret. The poems were about her relationship. Some of the titles read, quote, The Price of Fame, One Dead Soulmate, You’d Be So Much More Handsome If You Got an Exorcism, The Devil Wears Dolce, Snow White and the Complacent Rockstar, Boys Without Mothers, and Manic Deceptive Peter Pan.
They all tell the story of a chaotic, wounded, self-righteous man-child with poor emotional regulation. And I read through most of these and it was poem after poem detailing a guy with a theatrical dark boy aesthetic and addiction issues. Megan even described him at one point as a 6’4″ damsel in distress. But there was one major revelation that Megan confirmed was true.
She revealed in the book that she suffered a miscarriage with MGK. >> I’ve never been through anything like that before in my life. I have three kids, so it was very difficult for both of us. And it sent us on a very wild journey together and separately and together and apart and together and apart and together and apart trying to navigate, what does this mean and why did this happen? >> Now, this was a heartbreaking revelation from Megan and it caused even more confusion on the status of the relationship.
>> The person who actually told me I should write a poetry book is Colson. Some of it is definitely a metaphor. None of it is what I would call fictional. Those are all real life experiences that I had throughout my life. I have been in at least one physically relationship and several psychologically very abusive relationships.
I’ve only been publicly connected to a few people but I shared energy with, I guess we could say, who were horrific people and also very famous very famous people. Um but no one knows that I was involved with those people, to my knowledge. >> Yeah, you have only married one person. >> But I’ve been engaged multiple times. There’s only one person I call my twin flame.
>> But by the time Megan’s book was out, the two were being photographed at GQ’s Men of the Year party in Aspen. By the next year in 2024, they were back together like nothing ever happened. Partying with Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce at the Super Bowl after-party. But in March 2024, when Megan went on Call Her Daddy, she addressed the breakup rumors head-on.
>> Some of the poems are about him and they’re obviously about him like a 32-year-old narcissist attempts to quantify his crimes is very is about him and he knows it’s about him. >> But I also didn’t really write anything about him that he hasn’t said about himself in his own music. >> Uh-huh. >> However, that doesn’t make it any less sensitive for him to experience me writing about it because obviously he feels in control when he’s telling his own story or even like maybe he’s able to hide behind the music a little bit even
though he’s saying all the same things. It felt different in in this format. So, obviously he would have to be asked for his experience but it was not easy and I think he was like really nervous and and worried because there’s a lot of explosive content in the book obviously and there was some fear there and also I mean some of them are about him and are savage.
What I’ve learned from being in this relationship is that it’s not for public consumption. So, I think as of now, I don’t have a comment on like >> >> the status of the relationship per se. What I can say is that is what I referred to as being my twin soul, and there will always be a tether to him no matter what.
I I can’t say for sure what the capacity will be, but I will always be connected to him somehow. Beyond that, I’m not willing to explain. >> Now, I want to be clear. Just because they reportedly broke off their engagement didn’t mean they were broken up. If you remember in the deep dive I just put out about Megan’s early career, she broke off her engagement to Brian Austin Green almost immediately after getting engaged.
And the way it was worded by Megan in the media, I genuinely thought the relationship was over until I looked further down the timeline. Now, I know we don’t understand the ins and outs of their dynamic, but why are they trying so hard to stay together? Is it because they really love each other? I mean, they seemed like a match.
Or was it because both of their careers were exploding every time they broke up and got back together. Either way, they were definitely getting more famous. Around this time, MGK would take the Machine Gun Kelly out of his name and rebrand just to MGK. Month by month throughout 2024, the couple would be spotted rekindling their romance.
From Michael Rubin’s white party in the summer solstice celebration, it seemed like the couple were back on track. They even appeared together in MGK and Jelly Roll’s music video for their collaboration Lonely Road. Megan and MGK portraying a fictional couple storyline, even doing a fake pregnancy photo shoot together.
And this would manifest into Megan’s very real pregnancy announcement on November 11th, 2024. Yeah, you heard that right. Amidst the cheating rumors, MGK would impregnate Megan Fox. Now, I know I sound like a broken record at this point, but Megan has still not clarified anything about her relationship status since the Call Her Daddy podcast.
The press was completely lost at this point. Any speculation about their relationship was thrown completely out the window. People assumed they they fully healed together as a couple. Three days after the pregnancy announcement, MGK would make an appearance at the GQ Men of the Year party, but a very pregnant Megan Fox would wait for him in the car.
But only a few weeks later, TMZ would report that MGK and Megan had to allegedly end their Thanksgiving trip to Vail early when Megan went through his phone and found upsetting material. According to TMZ, she asked him to leave the trip early, and he did. Publications declared this as the end of their relationship, but remember, Megan was still due with his baby in March of the next year.
When March came around and they welcomed their daughter into the world, the press exploded. However, MGK and Megan would keep as low of a profile as possible when it came to the relationship and newborn child, a far cry from what their relationship started out as. MGK would occasionally be photographed by paparazzi getting groceries from Erewhon while Megan waited in the car or just hung out in the house with her baby.
So, if the media wanted actual details of Megan’s pregnancy, they would have to ask her ex-husband, Brian Austin Green. He would be in communication with the media for her entire pregnancy. He made his second podcast episode addressing MGK and Megan’s relationship. And he gave some very interesting context to his first statement about Megan and MGK, insinuating that Megan asked him to make that podcast in the first place.
>> When she came to me again wanting a divorce, I was like devastated. She approached me and then the Machine Gun Kelly stuff and everything was happening. I had absolute moments of jealousy, all the normal things you go through. It was a quick-moving thing. It went from like you know, like hey, we should get a divorce to all of a sudden it was like, hey, you know, it’s my twin flame and things and this is this is my soul and I manifested him from the it was >> yeah.
>> And it was everywhere. Bam, it was massive. All of a sudden >> >> like all the publications were calling Melissa, my publicist, and going, well, you know, what did does Brian have a comment on this and what everyone was like just the industry was abuzz with whatever was going on and wanting details of it.
At that point when the pictures came out, Megan saying to me, “We’re just friends. Please, can you on your podcast say that like it was that it was a little tailored to better >> Mhm. >> that side and because it was such a big deal. And I totally and I did. I completely caved to that cuz I loved her.
Like I didn’t want to badmouth her even though it was situation. >> And he even trashed MGK to TMZ. >> I just wanted to know if you had any thoughts on Megan and MGK breaking up. >> On what? >> On Megan and MGK breaking up. >> even know. >> You didn’t know? >> No, I had no idea. >> So, apparently she found something on his phone that was inappropriate.
Um and they were on vacation, he left and a lot of people think that they should be done for good. >> How old is he? Do you know? He’s in his 30s. >> in his 30s. >> Nice. >> Does he cheat on her a lot? >> I shh, I have no idea. >> Yeah. What do you think of >> But in your 30s like grow up like, you know, she’s pregnant.
Um >> Are you worried about her? >> I just I just want the best for her. I want the best for the baby. I want the best for our kids. Um that’s a shame. I’m I’m I’m heartbroken about it cuz uh I know she’s been so excited and the kids are so excited for >> Yeah. >> for life and the change and all of that. >> Brian would post an article of MGK on his Instagram story saying quote, “Bro, just be honest for once in your life.
Stop caring so much about how you’re perceived that you will try and drag other people.” After this, MGK would take it to Instagram DMs. When he messaged Brian quote, “Stop asking when our child is going to be born. You the feds? Quit calling TMZ and focus on that apology you owe me for speaking on my name in public.
You chose the wrong one to mess with, Mr. Child Actor. Go back to cereal commercials. Brian would fan the flames by screenshotting the message and posting it on his Instagram story saying, “Quote, I didn’t know child actor was something bad. Leo, careful. He may be coming for you next.” Brian told People magazine directly that he hadn’t heard from MGK after the post and he wasn’t expecting to saying, “Quote, that’s not something that I normally do, but it just really at the time really got under my skin to read about his sort of take on it. But then I’ve since come
to terms with the fact that I won’t do that anymore. I’m going to shut up and just sit back.” While Megan never directly commented on this public feud, a secret source close to Megan reported to Daily Mail that she was absolutely disgusted by MGK’s message to Brian and that Brian even ran the screenshot by her before posting it.
But why does the Daily Mail know about these super private meetings between Megan and Brian? It kind of just highlights how Megan’s exes treat her like a commodity to get into the entertainment news cycle. Like when MGK and Megan were walking the red carpet separately and he snuck up behind her to try to create a cute couple moment mid-interview.
So she swiftly guided him away and told him to do his own thing. He knew the camera was on. He knew she wasn’t feeling him, but he still pushed that boundary because of their public narrative of being together. Megan tells everyone how private of a person she is and how betrayed she feels when her private information is in the media.
Do her exes just justify it by saying they’re getting out ahead of it? Cuz in actuality it feels like either of them would do anything to get in the news with Megan. Does this make them bad people? I don’t know. But Megan kind of knew what she was getting into when she got involved with two insatiably fame-hungry stars.
Anyway, MGK would make his first public appearance since the birth of his child at Coachella on stage with Travis Barker and Three 6 Mafia. And in May he shared the first glimpse of his daughter on Instagram and shared that her name was Saga Blade Fox Baker. MGK may not have known it yet, but this photo would prove to be costly in his relationship with Megan.
In January of 2026, People magazine reported that Megan and MGK were officially done romantically and that their relationship was now just about co-parenting. Megan was described as quote focused on her kids and settling into a new chapter, but MGK seemed to publicly disagree. He took to Instagram to criticize the mainstream media and news cycle for being corny.
Many took this as a direct response to the relationship status update, but Megan was still silent. In March of 2026, MGK and Megan had their first public social media interaction in years. When Megan made her first Instagram comeback, MGK left a flirty comment saying quote stoked because I have your phone number. She posted another series of photos and he commented quote stoked we had a baby.
Both of these comments set off press firestorms about the couple rekindling their romance, but Megan’s next move low-key exposed that MGK was only doing this to get in the press, get her attention and shape the narrative around both of them. By the end of March 2026, TMZ reported that Megan had blocked MGK on Instagram and that the couple had no relationship outside of co-parenting.
TMZ noted that once he was blocked, the comments would disappear from Megan’s post. Fans then started noticing Megan’s name no longer appearing in MGK’s following list and E! News would frame it as a consequence for those thirsty comments he left on her post. Megan would post another set of photos immediately after this article went live, captioning them quote it is a double pleasure to deceive the deceiver.
In April of 2026, MGK and Megan’s relationship seemed like it was done for good. When a source alleged to Us Weekly that the real reason Megan wants nothing to do with MGK romantically is because of photos he posted of their daughter. According to the source, the couple had already had a conversation about not posting any photos of their baby online.
They said after MGK posted those photos of Saga, Megan was furious and felt like he purposely did it to spite her. >> I spent Christmas and New Year’s, the whole month of December and late November in a rehab facility. I came out, the world was very loud about me and my personal business. >> Mhm. >> Ironically, neither me or Megan have said anything.
I mean, still to this day there could just there could have been zero drama and you would never know cuz none of us have said one thing. >> Right. It’s all anonymous. >> Absolutely. Yeah, it’s it’s all Yeah, it’s all claims and things that have happened uh out of our control, I guess. And I came home to this.
I was somewhat aware when I was in there. >> So, that’s where their relationship stands as of this video being recorded. It sounds like Megan has some really strong and healthy boundaries for her family and co-parenting lifestyle. So, what was Megan’s motive with this relationship? Well, I’m not completely ruling out a formal relationship contract that kept them together for at least 3 years.
I think the more likely answer is somewhere in the middle. Megan has proven time and time again her main focus is on the big picture and she’s a genius at marketing herself as an off-screen character. I think she could see the same potential she sees in herself in mean, she hears of this young rapper from the Puff side of the industry and he wants a complete image transformation into a punk pop star for Tik Tok and he’s in a movie with you.
All the while the world is being ravaged by sickness, everyone’s going to be forced to stay inside for who knows how long. And this punk pop boy is head over heels in love with her. I mean, she was sort of presented with a golden opportunity, whether she took it or not. And the other possibility is that the two were genuinely head over heels in love with each other and didn’t care about Hollywood status or didn’t let it affect their relationship.
But to be honest, even if this is what they believed to be true, judging from both of their past actions, I think at least one of them had the thought of world domination level of thing on their minds. But who knows? I definitely want to hear what you all have to say about this couple. I feel like relationships like Benny Blanco and Selena Gomez or Meghan Trainor and that guy from Spy Kids are modeled directly after MGK and Megan Fox’s interviews.
I mean, look at the executive producer of MGK’s first pop punk album, Travis Barker. Kris Jenner is literally putting him with Kourtney Kardashian and dressing them up like MGK and Megan. >> New York, I need you to get extra loud for our future baby daddies, Machine Gun Kelly and Travis Barker. >> Anyway, that’s all that I have for you all today.
