ABBA’s Family – Agnetha & Björn Children

Let’s talk about the family and kids from the members of ABBA, their children. This video series will be respectful to their privacy. There will be no fake news or gossip. This is about their children, if they are involved in public activities, or even as part of ABBA’s legacy in and of itself. We will start with Agnetha and Björn’s children, Linda and Christian.

Linda Ulvaeus was born in 1973. This was right in the middle of a time when a brand new group was starting out in Sweden, ABBA, with their debut album Ring Ring. For the first days as mother to little Linda, Agnetha stayed home with her daughter. For some television performances in Europe, she was replaced by Frida’s friend Inga Brondin.

ABBA performed those songs to playback, not live, and they weren’t internationally known, so replacing Agnetha for those performances wasn’t problematic. Around that time, Agnetha was writing a song for Linda about the emotions of giving life. The song title translates as Song in the Eighth Month, and became the closing song for Agnetha’s solo album in 1975.

In the same year, Björn and Agnetha went on holiday to Greece with daughter Linda. We see them sitting on the beach and riding horses. This activity will be an important part of Agnetha and Linda’s life later on. Also in 1975, a German TV report visited ABBA on the island of Viggsö.

We see Björn and Agnetha with young daughter Linda. In 1979, Linda was on tour with ABBA. She can be seen in the choir when they performed I Have a Dream live at Wembley Arena. In 1980, she recorded a Christmas album with Agnetha, which was released 1 year later. The album received gold records and has become a cult classic. There is precious footage filmed by a fan from 1980 when fans visited Agnetha and Linda at their home.

In 1981, another song was written with Linda in mind. ABBA dedicated one of their final songs to Björn and Agnetha’s daughter Linda. Sleeping Through My Fingers is inspired by Björn’s realization how fast his daughter Linda was growing up. What happened to the wonderful adventures, the places I have planned for us to go? Linda Ulvaeus went on to become an actress, something that Agnetha has always dreamed about for herself.

Linda went to drama school, played in theater and movies. Her debut performance in film was in the Swedish film Under the Sun from 1998, which was nominated for an Academy Award for best foreign language film. In the 21st century, Linda continued to be part of Agnetha’s recording career. In 2004, she sang backing vocals for songs on Agnetha’s comeback album My Colouring Book.

In 2009, Agnetha and Linda attended the Celebration of the Arts Gala in Stockholm. In 2011, Linda Ulvaeus continued her own creativity by debuting as an author for children’s books. Today, Linda takes care of horses and she has three children herself, Tilda, Esther, and Signe. In 1977, Agnetha and Björn’s second child, Peter Christian, was born.

He leads a much more private life, works for a studio designing computer games, but he also participated in a children’s album with his mother Agnetha. In 1987, their collaboration was Agnetha’s second children’s album and her final album in Swedish language. Like the Christmas album with Linda, this album was produced by Agnetha herself together with ABBA’s sound engineer Michael B. Tretow.

Christian has one daughter, Nike. So, with Linda’s three children and Christian’s daughter, Agnetha and Björn have four grandchildren together, all female. From his second marriage to Lena, Björn himself has two more daughters. In 1982, Emma was born. She remains a private person and has two children herself, Edith and Albert.

Björn and Lena’s second daughter, Anna, was born in 1986. Today, she is manager for Björn’s family hotel, Slottsholmen, in Björn’s childhood place, Västervik. The restaurant food is inspired by memories of Björn’s childhood in Västervik. Anna keeps her family private as well, but it is known that she has at least one child, daughter Hedvig, whom we have seen together with Björn on photographs.

Today, Björn spends his life with his third wife, Christina Sas. Together, they have frequent organizations to care for elderly people. This is one of many activities in Björn’s private life, together with taking care of his own descendants, all his children and grandchildren. Björn himself has also become an active presence on social networks. This is what he said recently about his online activities as a father and granddad to his children and grandchildren.
