taught her about forgiveness she believes that forgiving is the first step to healing in feeling truly free Alan and Denise talked to their older children about the problems in their marriage their youngest daughter was only 5 years old so they didn’t tell her after Allan and Denise allegedly got a divorce they spent some time working on themselves after a few months they started talking again Denise told People magazine that the alleged divorce was very hard for both of them but they decided that their marriage and their

Denise’s doctor called with some bad news the doctor said that Denise had cancer in her colon Denise and her doctor were both surprised Denise had seen the doctor before her vacation because she had some bleeding the doctor had done a colonoscopy a procedure to look inside her colon at the time they didn’t think it was anything serious Denise told coping magazine that she couldn’t believe it when she heard she had cancer she said it was the worst news she had ever received she tried to eat healthy foods and sometimes went running so she was very
shocked it was especially upsetting because she was on a romantic trip with her husband when she got the news Allan was even more surprised than Denise he said it was very strange because Denise had never been sick before Allan and Denise left Florida right away and flew back home to Nashville their vacation was over when they got home Denise made an appointment with a doctor who treats cancer she wanted wanted to learn more about her illness and how to treat it Denise remembers feeling scared when she went to the cancer center she said that even
if you plan ahead you can’t avoid feeling afraid when you go to a hospital to be treated for cancer Allan helped Denise a lot during this difficult time he always tried to make her feel better he knew that his most important job was to be with her and support her when they came home from the doctor’s office Allan helped Denise understand everything and helped her feel less afraid Allan said that this was the first time he really understood what it meant to stay with his wife for better or worse like he promised when they got married
he didn’t give up hope instead he stayed strong for Denise his daughter also noticed how strong he was for his wife Denise had chemotherapy for many months and radiation therapy for 30 days after two months of treatment the doctors said she was cured she told People magazine that she never thought she would be a cancer Survivor she believes that she went through this difficult experience so that she could help other people with cancer Denise also said that good things can come from bad experiences she believes that we learn what our purpose
in life is by overcoming challenges singers and songwriters often find ideas for songs during difficult times when Denise was sick with cancer it was a very emotional time for her family during this time Allan wrote a beautiful and sad song called when I saw saw you leaving to express his feelings Allan said that he kept hearing the song in his head over and over again after Denise was diagnosed with cancer the words of the song Perfectly captured his feelings at that time the song when I saw you leaving was included on his
2012 album 30 m West this album was the number one country music album in 2013 Allan sang the song at a special concert called stars go Blue this concert helped raise money for the colon cancer Alliance an organization that helps people with colon cancer people who were at the concert heard Allan sing this very moving song it is still one of the most emotional songs he has ever written the words of the song are very powerful and many people connect with the message of the song Allan said that when someone’s husband or wife has cancer the
most important thing to do is to support them and give them hope he encouraged people to be there for others during difficult times to offer Comfort encouragement and help Allan faces health problems I know I’m stumbling around on stage and now I’m having a little trouble balancing even in front of the microphone and so I just feel very uncomfortable sadly Alan Jackson the famous singer recently shared some worrisome news about his health in 2021 he told the Today Show that he has a disease called shom Marie tooth disease
or CMT his fans were very surprised and concerned when they heard this Allan explained that he found out he had this disease a few years ago but he is only now telling his fans about it he said that the disease makes it difficult for him to walk and causes other problems CMT is actually a group of diseases that damage the nerves in the body that are not in the brain or spinal cord these nerves control how muscles move and how the brain receives messages from the body like when you touch something people with cm may have trouble walking
their hands legs and arms might feel numb their muscles might be weak CMT gets worse over time Allan said that his father who has d.i.ed his older sister and his father’s mother all had the same disease the National Institute of neurological disorders and stroke believes that CMT affects 2.6 million people around the world this means that CMT is a fairly common disease it damages the nerves that control muscles CMT is not a deadly disease there are treatments that can help people with CMT and it rarely affects the muscles that
help people breathe when reporters asked Allan about his illness he said that it has been affecting him for years it makes it harder for him to perform he explained that the disease affects his nerves and makes it difficult to keep his balance that’s why he sometimes stumbles when he’s on stage but he told his fans that people with CMT usually live a normal lifespan Allan has been a famous country music singer for almost 30 years in 2017 he was honored by the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum Allan doesn’t want to
stop performing anytime soon he thinks it would be silly to have a retirement tour and then start performing again the next year Allen’s wife Denise is helping him at home just like he helped her when she had cancer his whole family is supporting him during this difficult time Denise is happy to do everything she can for Allan she loves him very much and wants to comfort him while he deals with his illness she remembers that Allan was there for her when she needed help and now she wants to be there for him Denise
